Settling In

One week later, we are settling in and trying to find our new normal. We are getting there slowly. Norah is beginning to feel comfortable enough with us, but still insecure enough that we are having some trying times right now. She is comfortable enough to let us know her feelings, and we've seen some whopper tantrums. On the other hand, she is super clingy - especially with Jim - and gets very upset if she doesn't get what she wants right away. She is definitely struggling to make sense of her world right now.

Poor Jim has Will on one leg and Norah frequently on the other. I had prayed, for his sanity, that N would attach to me first, but apparently it was not meant to be. (For those who don't know, Will is a daddy's boy to the Nth degree.)

We are having some minor issues with food hoarding as well, not unexpected. Anytime Norah sees someone eating, she thinks she should have some too. You can open a can of soda and the kid comes running with her hand out. If it is something she isn't allowed to have, she throws a class A fit. With time and having her needs met, this too shall pass.

I post all of this because it is reality. We've had some frustrating times. Still, we know Norah was meant to be a part of our family and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy New Year blog family! Thanks for reading our journey with us...we hope to continue to update as time goes on and the kids grow!

Welcome home! I haven't checked your blog in sometime. I'm glad you made it home. Congratulations again on your beautiful addition!
Hang in there! Tianh had such a difficult adjustment, too. We still have some issues, but I know God chose the 'perfect' little one for our family. . . just as He did for your family.
Blessings and please email if you ever need someone who understands.
